About the Opportunity  

Covello, a Psomas company, has opportunities for experienced Project Engineers for field construction projects throughout the bay area and central coast regions of California. This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral member of a dynamic team that has successfully delivered many water, wastewater and recycled water projects in the region. In this role the Project Engineer provides technical, managerial and administrative activities in support of field construction activities.  Responsibilities include managing the construction documentation process, including RFIs, submittals, change management, estimating, scheduling, and reporting.

The Project Engineer works with the contractor and designer to resolve construction related issues and changes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be a creative problem solver, be intrinsically motivated, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT registration, CCM, or the ability to obtain.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and review construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with cloud-based Construction Management software such as Procore, Unifier, Primavera and/or other scheduling software is desirable. 
  • Must be able to work both independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team atmosphere in order to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.  
  • Knowledge of construction process and the ability to understand and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, be a creative problem solver, be intrinsically motivated, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Field experience a plus as the position will require working with the contractor and designer to resolve construction related issues and changes.
  • Must possess the mobility to work in a field office setting and construction site. Position will require work outside of normal work hours to meet project requirements and contractor's schedules.
