Your Role:

As a Construction Manager, you'll be leading a highly successful team that manages construction of multiple projects at Sunnyvale's Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP). The ongoing Projects are part of a series of planned upgrades and expansions at the WPCP, including new Secondary Treatment/Dewatering Facilities and the Rehabilitation of existing facilities over the next 5+ years. Based on Sunnyvale's overall Program, this is considered a long-term and excellent growth opportunity for an energetic professional. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly respected firm with an established base of existing clients, a strong backlog of future work and high potential for growth and development.


The Construction Manager is responsible for providing day-to-day management of all construction related matters including supervision of staff, contract administration, implementing technical solutions on construction/design issues, monitoring schedule and managing budget. Additional duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform Constructability Reviews
  • Preparation of reports and schedules for management
  • Manage relationships between the Public Agency/Owner, contractors, and designers
  • Oversee contract correspondence, including submittals, request for information, change order requests and design clarifications
  • Negotiate change orders and recommend acceptance by the Public Agency/Owner
  • Analyze construction change orders and recommend steps to successful resolution

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license - in California
  • 10+ years of related work experience
  • Experience in the construction management, start-up and testing of water resources infrastructure, including treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines and related facilities.
  • Fluent in English and able to compose grammatically correct documents in English
  • Familiarity in Word, Excel and Primavera P6
