Role:

The Psomas Land Use Entitlements Team is seeking a Part Time land use Urban Planner Intern for our Downtown LA office. In this role, you will be able to apply what you are learning in college and be hands on as you assist in development projects across Southern California, applying land use policies and the preparation of land use entitlements with local government entities.

Must be available to work between 15 and 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Planners as needed with the following tasks:

  • Conducting research tasks (including telephone research with local, State, and federal agencies) as well as internet research
  • Drafting summaries of technical reports
  • Assisting with the production and distribution of documents and government applications
  • Assisting with the preparation of Notices and with public meeting preparation
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals and in conducting research for marketing
  • Driving to file/post notices, conduct research, and/or deliver documents

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a 3rd or 4th year college/university student or working on a graduate degree in a related field (e.g., Planning, Policy, Environmental Sciences); We will only consider local candidates
  • Must have an understanding of land planning, preferably with direct coursework or real-world experience
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Driving may be required and must be able to meet company driving requirements
